You can't blame that on the US team. That's just Klinsmann....

who's german.

Exactly! And Klinsmann is extremely whiny even by German standards...
He's been americanized with a 200% overdose.

once again you show that you have no fucking clue about the game.

A goal less draw can be much more enjoyable than a 6-5 goal fest for a knowing fan who enjoys tactics, strategy, athlecism and skill.

The highlights of a 90 minute soccer match lasts about 40 seconds. The rest is just extreme boredom.

Athleticism...LOL. As I've mentioned before, my old dog could kick a ball.

I wouldn't say that. it's obviously got skill.

I watched the final in a pub and I agree about the excitement vs boredom time; the "ah" moments are few and far between. No matter how much skill is involved, there is too much time spent in midfield with no scoring chance. Shots are rare. As I said, I don't think low scoring is bad; it's low chances that are bad. If it's 10 minutes in between each chance, then it's a yawner and lots of games are like that.

The Simpsons nail it. The american vs non american commentary is awesome.

That's ridiculous. Look at American football: people get all excited about a single pass, and it takes like 5 minutes for the one play to happen. ZOMG they completed a pass and move the ball ten yards up the field. Time for everybody to fap!

Or some guy carried the ball and moved it two yards. Time for yet another a commercial break so we can all watch another five minutes of advertisements.

And don't even get me started with baseball. It's like hours and hours of everybody just sitting around looking at each other, waiting for something to happen.

but that is exactly the reason why americans love these pseudo-sports! You can gobble down hot dogs and/or being half asleep on your couch while having a great excuse while you are doing nothing. 'Sorry, can't help you with ...., I am watching 'the game''.

I'd like to see you hit a 95 mph fastball with late movement.

But I would wager you can kick a soccerball.

kick? yes. Make it go in the desired direction fast enough to compete with other players? Hardly.

Doesn't change the fact that baseball and american football are snore fests which are not enjoyed at all and just used as excuses to hang around lazily and gobble up vast amounts of animal tissue in paste form, pressed into artifical casings.

soccer: 89 minutes 50 seconds of utter fucking boredom.

In baseball (as any knowledgeable person will admit is the much tougher sport to play) there is at a minimum of 6 defensive saves every inning. But you wouldn't really know considering you have never watched an entire baseball game in your life.

All sports are at their basic level ridiculous. So what if someone caught the pass? So what if someone scored a goal.

The point is that in each game, there are moments in the game that are more exciting to people who like the game. ask anyone who watches football, the obvious exciting bits are when a goal could possibly be scored. in football, that's about 4 minutes out of 90.

In American football, a nice pass is a nice pass, and yes, it's far more exciting when people are sitting on the offensive 15 yard line about to make a score. But that's the game and people like to watch a nice drives up the field. that's part of what watchers of the game think is exciting.

fair point about commercials though. that sucks.

I like playing baseball; can't stand watching it.

Soccer: It's so easy, even a fascist eurofag can do it.

Personally, I see this World Cup more as an experiment: How far can a team get, without fielding a striker; because Löw forgot to bring one. Oops.

And instead of our mentally challenged coach our best player retires. :x
Oh well - Lahm's 30, so I guess I support his decision. Still, he's the only player we can't adequatly replace.
… or can we? We'll find out 2016 - probably with even more centre backs and still without striker.

Congratulations! Your dream of living in an Islamic caliphate is finally coming true.

They don't like faggots over there very much, look at what they did to Anwar Ibrahim.

You're better off finding yourself a rich sultan who'd take you in for his bitch.

and all midfielders actually defenders playing outside their position. And with a libero. Called Neuer. And Zieler in the goal.

a whole article on goalies gambling during penalty kicks.

yup, it's just about luck.

and that is exactly what the article does not say.

Just face the fact: penalties are the only just and fair way to decide a game after overtime.

Other ways have been tried in the past. And they were neither just nor fair.
