Hello there. I want to ask for help on a problem that is driving me crazy
I just installed eduke32. I also have timidity++ and some fonts (eawpatches freepats fluid-soundfont). I also have midi on the global use flags. When I start the game ...
RTS file "DUKE.RTS" was not found
Initializing OSD...
0 joystick(s) found
Executing "settings.cfg"
Setting video mode 1024x768 (8-bpp fullscreen)
Initializing music...
Initializing sound... 32 voices, 2 channels, 16-bit 48000 Hz
Wrote eduke32.cfg
Wrote settings.cfg
So no error or warning, yet there is no music (sounds work just fine)
I tried all the different midi fonts, reinstalled eduke32 with diferent soundsets (and no soundsets) and yet no music... I am quite lost, as usually just installinf freepats solved the music problem, but here it is not working as much as I use eselect to choose it or other midi fonts
And thank you in advance |

Well, now I have music (sort off).
I got a music pack (the opl patch, using the corresponding "USE" flag) I extracted from it the music.def on my $HOME/.eduke32 and executed the game with the parameters -h music.def. Now the music pack is working. I assume that eduke32 has a bug and doesn't autoload the *.def files.
I am not calling this post as solved, as I still don't have MIDI music. I just managed to sort the music out by downloading a music set and playing its *.ogg music tracks |
