i've just done a
emerge webrsync
in chroot and have been given a message the current local timestamp is newer than the timestamp of the latest snapeshot. in order to force sync, use the --revert option or removee the timestamp file located at /usr/portage/metadata/timestamp.x
does any one know how i can use the --revert comand or remove the time stamp from the file system |

To remove the time stamp file, do `rm /usr/portage/metadata/timestamp.x`; to revert instead, you can run `emerge-webrsync --revert=20140424` which will revert to the latest snapshot at the time of writing this. |

I had this timestamp issue but it was on /var/db/repos/gentoo/metadata/timestamp.x path for me.
As TomWij suggested i tried below and it worked for me.
Code: | rm /usr/portage/metadata/timestamp.x |
