|

Hi,
i'm using the "onboard" gpu of a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4771 CPU (family: 6, model: 60) and having a "small" problem while using firefox. if i'm scrolling trough a page there a some artifacts (looks like a failure caused by broken cuda-code). if i move the window the artifact are disappearing.
To fix the problem i've tried the combinations of "sna" and "uxa" acceleration methods along with disabling composited and using the NoTears option,
Versions of interesting packages:
- x11-base/xorg-server-1.15.0
- media-libs/mesa-10.0.4
- x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.21.15
- www-client/firefox-24.4.0
- x11-libs/cairo-1.12.16
Configurationfiles and Logs
I've opend a thread at gentooforum.de but nobody could helped me, so i'm trying it here
thank you in advance
Solution
upgrade x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel to >=2.99.911

I think that's a mesa problem with i915 and your chip gen right now. At least I haven't heard it for the first time...
PS: Image link doesn't seem to work (403) |

This looks like: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68410
You can either disable sna by adding Code: | Option "AccelMethod" "UXA" | to to the device section of your xorg.conf or upgrade x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel to the latest (unstable) version (2.99.911). |
