I had Guild Wars 2 running fairly well on arch linux, but using gentoo I get this error after the character selection screen:

http://pastebin.com/ytw3hCew.

I can't seem to find a solution on WineHQ and I'm assuming it's gentoo specific.

My system is amd64 and I'm using opensource ati driver.

I have some varius crashes using my nvidia card. I am not sure if the opensource drivers are usefull if you want to play games! I would use the closed source one. Using Nvidia and wine/crossover i have to set the Crossover Guild Wars 2 - Video Memory Size

Had no issues with my self compiled wine or the static build crossover versions.

Teegrins and welcome, hibajugala and kingjames!

That log looks like the log from Guild Wars 2 itself, which I have no experience in deciphering. If I had to guess, it would probably be something towards graphics drivers.

Hopefully we don't have to go on by that alone. I think it would be more helpful if we could see what Wine has to say about it, so please provide the terminal output (How can I get a debugging log (a.k.a. terminal output)?) from running the game to the crash.

Mod Edit: As it turns out kingjames, greeted here, was a profile spammer. Their post has been moved to dustbin. Leaving this note here to address the now hanging reference.

I finally got a reply on winehq, and am currently recompiling all my libraries with 32 bit support.

if this helps:
https://appdb.winehq.org/commentview.php?iAppId=14130&iVersionId=26558&iThreadId=89936

And I will post what wine tells me as soon as I get back to my PC during the week.

Thanks for your replies

I think this is the bug you're seeing: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499952

I've been waiting and waiting for a real fix for this, that isn't going to be a huge pain to implement.

Sorry it's been a while, I've been busy with exams.
I solved the libpng error, but I am still unable to get past the character selection screen.

This is the winelog:

And this is the error Guild Wars 2 itself gives:

Sorry for the long reply, and hope you can help.
