Hello, everyone! I have a problem playing internet radio stream .m3u file in banshee 2.6.1, neither queued from file nor entered as radio station. If started from terminal I get error:

media-sound/banshee-2.6.1 was built with the following:

Rhythmbox has no problem playing the stream nor any of my installed media players - vlc, gnome-mplayer, totem.
On my other box banshee was installed a time ago with same USE flags and plays .m3u files without a glitch. Some update - maybe gstreamer package - ruined banshee config in the run.
Any help is appreciated.
P.S. Any other media file like .mp3, .flac, etc. plays just fine, but .m3u doesn't.

After digging more closely into the problem I found the cause of the problem - banshee relies on media-plugins/gst-plugins-libsoup-0.10.31 for playing .m3u playlist internet streams and any new version (if only installed) breaks the stuff.
Hope that helps other users because a fresh GNOME 3.10 installs by default only a newer version of gst-plugins-libsoup, which by the way, is pulled explicitly with rhythmbox installation and not banshee.
Maybe a need of a bug report? |
