Getting tired of xfce so decided to install kde. I run emerge kde-meta and it fails when it gets to gtk-config.

emerge -av kde-misc/kde-gtk-config --debug: output

Could you perhaps try compiling it without gtk? Or are you using it?
I know that doesn't exactly fix the problem, but it might get the gui working.

Code:
-- checking for module 'gtk+-3.0'
--   found gtk+-3.0, version 3.10.7
-- checking for module 'atk'
--   found atk, version 2.8.0

[ 79%] Built target reload_gtk_apps
/usr/lib64/libatk-bridge-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `atk_text_get_string_at_offset'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

but I think that symbol is only in newer versions of ATK than 2.8.0.

These sorts of errors can occur when mixing stable and testing packages. If you really need certain GTK-related packages that are not yet stable, you might need to keyword more (such as ATK in this case) to have things work.

Hi guys shortly after I made this post I screwed up my system pretty bad trying to fix it and I just reformated again. But thanks for your input I think I will just stick to the stable packages this time.
