Hello everybody,
While trying to configure my Matrox G200 I found out that it wasn't startet with DRI-Support. Since I configured my kernel properly (all the Matrox-Stuff, AGPGART, etc.) I searched in /var/log/XFree86.0.log for any messages where I found this:
drmOpenDevice: minor is 0
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device)
drmOpenDevice: Open failed
Seems as if the needed Device /dev/dri/card0 isn't present. So I looked up in /etc/devfsd.conf if there is something about this Device but there were nothing :( I 'm using devfs the first time with gentoo, so I dunno if /etc/devfsd.conf really lacks DRI support and if yes how I can fix it.
Can anybody help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your answer, but since I compile my kernel without modules it won't work ;)
But it seems as if agpgart can't detect my VIA-Chipset and thus failes to initialize. The same happens to mga (no agpgart). That might be the reason why devfsd don't create the needed devices. I compiled agpgart as module and loaded it with Parameter "agp_try_unsupported=1" and it worked. Now I have DRI enabled and glxgears looks good (for a G200). But unfortunately every 3D Game don't work. even bzFlag complains and can't draw textures ;(
