Oh YESSS! The one who invented ZNURT!

Did you think about fixing a couple of reamaining glitches (mainly around package description) on the (marvelous as well as usefull) site (I have been advocating for years) before actually coming out of retirement ?

Oh wait : Nevermind ! Welcome Back! 8)

Oh wait: I get a wishlist for you to work on...

BTW, I think you must know that desultory has been desperatly promoting zougloub during your retirement... ( https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6482554.html#6482554] )

Heh, thanks for the welcomes back everyone. :)

Lemme know what you need fixed on Znurt. I poked at it a bit earlier this week and started fixing some bugs.

Lemme know what else is on your wishlist, too, I'll see what I can do. :)

:)

I love you guys. *group hug*

On another note, any chance of getting (re-)added as a forum moderator for 'Multimedia'? Usually my activity is pretty low-key, but I will go in and update stickies and join threads on occasion to help out.

OK... anyone else to welcome beandog... go on go on... welcomes are deserved! True!
(BTW, I see no less than 3 admins applausing your come-back but no one of them ever thought pushing some applause smiley. :!: )

Well... nobody else... sure ?

OK... since you said you are back to real work...

I'm a little puzzled by the description field znurt displays.

Let's take an example... taken... absolutely... randomly!

The marvelous, incomparable, unique : sys-kernel/ck-sources

So, this absolutely honest package cares to define
Code:
K_BRANCH_ID="${KV_MAJOR}.${KV_MINOR}"
DESCRIPTION="Full Linux ${K_BRANCH_ID} kernel sources with Con Kolivas' high
performance patchset and Gentoo's genpatches"

KV_MAJOR and KV_MINOR being defined by the kernel-2 eclass.

when displaying the result of a search on ck-sources or displaying categories/sys-kernel, znurt displays :
Quote:
Full Linux 3.6 kernel sources with Con Kolivas' high performance patchset and Gentoo's genpatches.

More, when clicking on whatever particular release of the package within the <table class='releases'>, the page I get still displays the same description irrespective of the release I am currently viewing.

My opinion is that it's... suboptimal.

I can understand that znurt does not actually run the code of the ebuild in order to be aware of variable values.
In which case, I would think preferable to substitute ${.*} to "" when parsing the DESCRIPTION field.

Of course... znurt provides so useful services (It's probably a service that I use more than any package in the tree (ck-sources excepted of course... ) that... I am just nit-picking.

A rather good chance, especially with you having saved me the trouble of asking.

Perhaps we have transcended the smiley plane, instead engaging in fraternal communication by means of snark.

Aw, thanks man. I'm already mad with power! Or maybe I just need a cookie. I can't tell the difference. :)

Nit-picks are always welcome, I'm the same way. Would you do me a big favor though and file bugs on the github repo? kthxbai :)

Edit: Also, ck-sources are t3h awesum.
