New screenie.

1. About to ditch thunderbird ( 100% cpu bug that has been around for months  ) and try out claws-mail.
2. Testing terminology.

EDIT: claws-mail is clunky and sloooowwwww :(

It is several recipes (predefined themes) in Fvwm-Crystal. The Amiga one provide a top bar that can show 2 different views, one with the user's name, the free RAM, a miniature of the window tasks, a clock and a small button. The second view is the applications menu. From Fvwm point of vue, they are 2 buttons overlapping each other on different layers, and to show one or the other is done by shifting the layers.

Independently of the recipe in use, almost any window can be maximized in full-screen, with the possibility to cycle trough the full-screened windows of the current desktop page and the desktop, like with the Amiga OS. Unlike the AmigaOS, a typical X feature like multiple desktop pages is also available.

The 2 ways of cycling trough the workspace are for me must have features. I liked the Amiga way of cycling trough full-screened applications and the workbench, and I like the X way of multiple desktop pages. With Fvwm and Fvwm-Crystal, I can have both.

I begun with Fvwm-crystal by providing control menus for alsamixer, alsaplayer and mplayer. It was for me the more obvious way to learn fvwm, and now I am the way to finalize a new and long wanted release with a lot of fixes and improvements, some of them are visible like the fonts preferences, many of them under the hood like fixes for the full-screen related functions.

We see the application menu. It is free desktop aware and tale care of the additional categories. That imply the applications don't get mixed into the base category when you have a lot of them into the same category. This is also a must when you are used to. It is also very easy to add applications that doesn't provide a desktop file. And last but not least, your changes will not be lost after an update.

First post on Gentoo.

Made a few ebuilds including one for `bspwm' and `sxhkd', which is the window manager and hotkey daemon I am using developed by "bloom".
I am a long-time Arch Linux user who is finally fed up (will not blog about it)... just know that I came here for more choice/freedom and I am ecstatic that I have found it. So, thanks!
