Hi,

first I have to say that I'm quite new to amd64 Gentoo, so it might be a 32bit/64bit/multilib problem.

When I first installed my 64bit Gentoo system about 3 months ago I also installed PlayOnLinux and wine and TrackmaniaUnited. It perfectly worked.
Then I tried to play the game again, but it doesn't work any longer. Meanwhile I updated the Gentoo system where xorg and some emul-linux libs were updated.

I've tried wine 1.6 and 1.7.4 together with different nvidia drivers (now 331.20) but the game always quits when the game's window opens (I guess when it starts using DirectX).

The log displays those lines:
Code:
err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glMapBufferRange @ /var/tmp/portage/app-emulation/wine-1.7.4/work/wine-1.7.4/dlls/wined3d/buffer.c / 992

Has anybody any ideas?

Best regards,
Andreas

Is this only happening on the new version of the NVIDIA drivers?

No, it also happens with some releases before.

Hmm, have you done `emerge @x11-module-rebuild` and `revdep-rebuild` after those upgrades?

Of course I did. I do it for every "emerge world" update.

Could it be due to missing 32bit libs?

No, it seems as if it a mismatch between two libraries' assumptions but I don't see which; I might very well be wrong.

I suggest you to file a bug at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ such that the maintainers (and later upstream, if needed) can look further into this.

Hi,

thanks for your help.

I don't know why but now it works. I downgraded nvidia-drivers to the version had installed three month ago. Then I updated them step by step and checked if the game works. Now I have v331.20 again and it still work.

Let's wait and see when it fails again...

Best regards,
Andreas

Stupid me! The user I used was not in the "video" group. Don't know why and when I removed it
