Is there any way to open a .wps file in Abiword? Can libreoffice open this type of file?

Libreoffice can open a .wps file, I just put LO on a friends computer so he could do that.

I was hoping I could get away with using abiword instead of libreoffice. Any way to get abiword to open this?

Don't know about abiword, but if you emerge libwps it will give you these tools:

Thank you George. All I had to do was enable the wordperfect USE flag for abiword.

I was wrong. It's not working. How could I look into this further? I've sent two requests to subscribe to the Abiword mailing list but no response.

Enabling the openxml USE flag got .docx files working. Maybe it helps with .wps too.
