iPhone in Thunar -- works and doesn't work

I can mount and access my wife's iPhone on my laptop but not on her laptop. Our hardware is identical and the software is very very close. She gets an "Operation not supported by backend" error when she tries to mount the iPhone in Thunar. Should I check for certain package versions? We're both on gvfs-1.16.3-r1 with USE="ios".

Actually it's copying and pasting images from the iPhone that doesn't work on my wife's laptop and that doesn't work on mine either. Any ideas?

In case you are still struggling with this problem, here is the bug report I just filed:

And I have also posted the current resolution, before a patch for the stable branch is available you can upgrade your glib package to version: glib-2.38.2 (testing code) which fixes the problem.
