Hi

Iam writing a little php page that enables users to change their samba passwords.

Now befor anyone can set the password of any other user, i want the user to input his "old" password.

-> Any idea howto check the "old" password via bash script? - Is there a samba client program that needs logging in where I can pass the username and password and parse the output?
(I dont wanna use "mount" ;-)
-> For example I get the registered users via
Code:
sudo -u root -S pdbedit -L -v |grep "Unix username" |rev|cut -f1 -d " "|rev|sort

Looks like this could be a useful starting point:
