Hi,
I have a strange problem on an HP 625 laptop. I configure my kernels "by hand" for a long time and on several machines.
But this one challenges me.
I'm using the gentoo-sources 3.10.9.
1st) if I use the .config file from SystemRescueCD, the kernel boots and I can even start X with the Radeon driver.
2nd) But if I use my own kernel configuration with all DRM related configure options identical to that of SystemRescueCD
my kernel freezes with a blank screen just after "Waiting for uevents to be processed"
3rd) If disable (only) DRM the kernel boots just fine (but then I cannot start X since the Radeon driver needs DRM)
Has anybody an idea what's going on or how to debug this?
Many thanks for hint,
Helmut |

You're probably missing the firmware. `emerge radeon-ucode` and build the radeon driver as a module. |
