openrc producing "service not started from open rc" & hostname broken. nvidia drivers look like they are not working with this combo, though that might need revdep-rebuild. theres a nightmare in the works.
i dont like to be surprised by future packages so i was just giving them a glance. |

You really should get it more technical and report to bugs.gentoo.org, if you hit bugs or outages because broken packages (in any way) you should report it.
If you however have isuses with udev whatsoever, consider alternatives. I do run mdev-like-a-boss (foo-overlay), its so simple that almost cannot be broken. Note that it does not support evdev or udisks, but I have fully working desktop system, driven by openbox, and several dozen production systems with it - as I said - too simple to broke. |

This user has a history of blindly mixing arch and ~arch packages, as well as recommending others to do the same. It's unfortunate but not terribly surprising that eventually a problem would occur. |
