Hi Folks

I finally made it to install Gentoo on my Macbook Pro 6.2 in EFI mode
systems boots fine, but I cant get XOrg to work

typing startx gives me the error:

No sreens found

I am using the nouveau driver, because when i remove it from the kernel the screen will get black right aufter udev initialization during the boot process.

modprobe nvidia gives me a never ending loop of the same error message

no nvidia graphics adapter probed

nvidia-drivers are installed.
can somebody help me to get my system running as it should?
thanks in advance

if you need any logs or confs or whatever let me know

Take a look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if there's any diagnostics.

Also are you using an /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

var/log/Xorg.0.log has the following errors

Code:

LoadModule: "nouveau"
Warning, couldnt open module nouveau
unloading noveau
failed to load module "nouveau" (module does not exist, 0)

the same goes for nv, vesa, modesetting and fbdev

results in error, no screens found

no i am not using an Xorg.conf

Xorg -configure gives me

Code:

List of devices:
nvidia
intel
modprobe: ERROR: coultd not insert 'nvidia':No such device
modprobe FATAL: Module i915 not found Number of screens does not match number of detected devices
configuration failed
