Did you try using one of Pappy's Kernel seeds? They are very parred down already but they are usually almost ready to use. You just need your file system and a couple of modules. The instructions are on the site. You may as well get a working kernel before stripping it down. _________________ First things first, but not necessarily in that order.
Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box. |

Sure. I am going to try that now.
That said, this really doesn't seem like a kernel issue to me. Granted, I haven't had a working Gentoo system on this box before, but there doesn't seem to be any real indication of a kernel bug or error in any of the files. OpenRC seems to be where the problem is at -- in that it clearly starts OpenRC, but fails to actually execute any of the scripts (or they fail to run).
Anyway, I'll try to compile that and see what happens. I am out of ideas if the problem is OpenRC itself, since that seems pretty much a part of the way Gentoo operates now. I suppose I could roll my own init method or borrow from something else, but it seems like I shouldn't have to. |
