trying to install flightgear, failing on openscenegraph. I cant seem to find the error. Ends at 99%

The error is likely further up in the log. Could you wgetpaste the entire build log, please?

yep, further up was the complaint about 'QT OpenGL QGLWidget cannot be found' so i installed dev-qt/qtopengl and the compile went through. Thanks.

Hmm. As it turns out dev-qt/qtopengl is already a dependency, but only if the qt4 USE flag is set. There may be an ebuild bug here. Would you mind posting your "emerge --info"?

Hmm. Since you have the qt4 USE flag enabled, this is probably just going to be an unidentified corruption in the previous build of dev-qt/qtopengl. If you didn't use the --oneshot option when you rebuilt it, you might want to --deselect it to unpollute your world file. Nothing else to do at this point. :wink:

Not necessarily corruption, -N @world would likely cover inconsistenties like this. And indeed, one would certainly want to keep libs / dependencies out of /var/lib/portage/world
