|
|
hi all,
I would like to assign some unused key from my keyboard to run keyboard shortcuts such as CTRL+W to close tabs in firefox.
so far, I have found at least 2 commands for doing this :
Code: | /usr/bin/xvkbd -xsendevent -text '\Cw' |
Code: | /usr/bin/xdotool key ctrl+w |
Both work when launched from shell
None work with xbindkeys
My .xbindkeysrc (only relevant parts)
Code: | # Calculatrice
"gcalctool"
m:0x10 + c:132
# Fermeture onglet
"/usr/bin/xdotool key ctrl+w" # or "/usr/bin/xvkbd -xsendevent -text '\Cw'"
m:0x10 + c:101 |
Note that the gcalctool shortcut works; and swapping keys c:132 and c:101 does not solve the problem.
Just in case that could be important, my keyboard is a Typematrix 2030 USB _________________ Linux, cause booting is for adding new hardware |

Installing x11-apps/xev might help you troubleshooting. |

Thank for your answer.
I already have xev installed. I used it to find out the keycodes. _________________ Linux, cause booting is for adding new hardware |
