Hello,

I just installed Gentoo and my keyboard doesn't work at login screen where I have to enter my username. It works with livecd. I had computer with Gentoo and the same keyboard before, but on my new computer it doesn't work. I used genkernel with my installation. Any ideas?

I assume this is the X11 graphical login that's having issues?

Things to check (KERNEL, General):
USB support for your host adaptor
USB HID support
Input keyboard/mouse support/Event Driver interface
(X11, if only X11 is having problems)
Input driver: EVDEV (xf86-input-evdev) emerged

Check your /var/log/Xorg.0.log for hints.

I have no X11 or xorg. In /var/log there are only two folders - portage and sandbox. This is fresh Gentoo install and first reboot after installation. There must be something with kernel and I am trying to find what.

I solved the problem for now. Just connected my keyboard from USB 3.0 port to USB 2.0 and keyboard works fine. Later I will check how to make my USB 3.0 ports to work.

Looks like you were missing the kernel driver for the USB host adapter. I think all USB3 use the "XHCI" driver, make sure that's selected along with EHCI and UHCI/OHCI depending on which you use (or both).
