Hi, I'm having trouble connecting to the network. I'm not sure what changed but I recently updated to udev 2 and there was a news message telling me that I needed to use the free namespace instead but I don't have anything in /etc/udev/rules.d anyway!

I have an Intel network card and it used to be rock solid! My lspci shows it and my module is loaded e2000, but when I try to initialize I get a warning saying to ensure that I have to ensure the correct driver loaded.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yea, it seems udev-200 has "deprecated" the use of all old names, and renames stuff to another (non-kernel) convention by default.

The easy fix is to do:
Code:

ln -s /dev/null /etc/udev/rules.d/80-net-name-slot.rules

and restart. That will disable the new names and use the kernel names instead.

The "persistent" names are variable based on ideas from the udev developers.
