Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install Wine, which is pulling in prelink as a dependency. Prelink fails to link as follows:

Code:
i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -Wall -O2 -march=native -pipe -msse -msse2 -mmmx -Wno-pointer-sign -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed -o prelink -static cache.o conflict.o cxx.o doit.o exec.o execle_open.o get.o gather.o layout.o main.o prelink.o reloc.o space.o undo.o undoall.o verify.o canonicalize.o md5.o sha.o checksum.o data.o dso.o dwarf2.o fptr.o hashtab.o mdebug.o stabs.o crc32.o arch-i386.o arch-alpha.o arch-ppc.o arch-ppc64.o arch-sparc.o arch-sparc64.o arch-x86_64.o arch-mips.o arch-s390.o arch-s390x.o arch-arm.o arch-sh.o arch-ia64.o  -lselinux -lelf
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.4/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lselinux
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [prelink] Error 1

However, I have verified the existence of libselinux:

Code:

> ls -l /lib/libselinux.so.1
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 116768 Mar 12 22:15 /lib/libselinux.so.1
> file /lib/libselinux.so.1
/lib/libselinux.so.1: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped

Also, I haven't enabled anything to do with selinux, and it's not in my USE flags. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks a lot.

sys-devel/prelink should only link to SELinux when using an SELinux profile. It should automatically depend on the required SELinux library when USE=selinux is enabled. Please post the output of emerge --info sys-devel/prelink sys-libs/libselinux ; equery check sys-libs/libselinux.

It seems using emerge --info package does not produce data on the package if it is not installed. I never noticed that. Please post also the output of emerge --pretend --verbose --deep --tree --newuse sys-devel/prelink.
