|
|
A question about overlay packages:
Here I found a qsopcast package: http://gpo.zugaina.org/net-p2p/qsopcast
I have layman installed and configured as discribed in wiki.
When I trying to emerge net-p2p/qsopcast I getting an error: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "net-p2p/qsopcast".
Why this package is missing in layman directory (/var/lib/layman/zugaina/net-p2p) while this package is present at zugaina site?
How to get this package? I tried to download this package files into /var/lib/layman/zugaina/net-p2p/qsopcast but it doesn't helped.

Did you miss out the step to add layman to your make.conf?
You need Code: | source /var/lib/layman/make.conf | in your make.conf. Otherwise portage won't find the packages from Layman's Overlay. _________________ Important German:- "Aha" - German reaction to pretend that you are really interested while giving no f*ck.

yes, layman is added to make.conf.
The matter is that the qsopcast package is missing at all from zugaina portage tree (at /var/lib/layman/zugaina).
But this package exists at zugaina web site. |

Perhaps the website is not in sync with the repository? I had some issues with zugaina repository in the past. If you found the desired ebuild of your choice at the website and it's not present in the repository, you can always set up your own local overlay, put it there and generate Manifest with Code: | ebuild <ebuild_file> manifest | .
Then in /etc/make.conf you have to update PORTAGE_OVERLAYS by adding the path to your local repository. From then on Portage should be able to find the ebuild.

The reason it can't find it is because it is not in the zugaina overly. If you look at the page you linked to in your first post.
You would see in the lower right corner Code: | Overlay: arcon (layman) |
so:
should do it. But you may have to add an entry to /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords for it if you are running a stable keyword.

Yes, it is really in arcon overlay. I decided that zugaina site contains zugaina overlay's ebuilds only. But arcon here also.
I've added arcon, emerge found qsopcast.
Many thanks, guys! |

Zugaina's website is about listing all packages in all overlays that it tracks. This let's you search for ebuilds that may not be in the main tree.
Yes they do also have an overlay named zugaina with some ebuilds. _________________ Brian
