How to get grub2 showing boot like livecd?

I have tried to get grub2 to show the boot sequence like you see when you boot from a live CD, you know nice font, good resolution, and the little pengiuns, but what ever i try from the googling I have done nothing works, I have set it to use a bigger resolution, and it looks like it tries to do so as the screen flashes black but then just contiunes with the same low resolution boot untill I get to kdm screen.

I have Nvidia blob installed, is there a way I can check to see what resolutions are support by the kernel when I boot?

This used to work before under grub but the method I used there doesnt seem to work for grub2

Did you try to install Grib2 themes? Nice fonts, high screen resolution, progress indicator, different icons for menu items and so on.
Penguins also included :lol:

Will that load the video card though? if that isnt loading would it not make a difference ?

I have NVidia GTX-550 Ti and themes works fine.
