Hi, I cannot compile cyrus-sasl, the new stable version keeps giving me a libtool, or as google suggests glibc, related error. Tried emerging other libtool slots, revdep-rebuild says my system is consistent nonetheless, cannot update this one. thanks for your help

Code:
czb-nbdokoupil portage # emerge cyrus-sasl

I have the same version of cyrus-sasl. I was looking for differences between your setup and mine, and since your emerge output mentioned aclocal, I looked for automake. It turns out the difference is that I have automake 1.11.6, and ONLY that version. You also have version 1.10.3. I wonder if it might help this issue to depclean (or emerge -C if it's slotted) automake 1.10.3 from your system.

I experienced the same problem.

Emerge --depclean
Env-update
Source /etc/profile

Did the trick.

I was having the same problem, but couldn't run emerge --depclean due to unsatisfied dependencies

I can confirm however that just

Code:
env-update
source /etc/profile

worked for me

Hi there,

for those who are still not successful with the solution above: I had to make an additional

perl-cleaner --all .

Emerging stopped all the time with
"Failed Running aclocal" or "You should recreate aclocal.m4 with macros from libtool 2.4" (changed my gcc-config a couple of weeks ago). Now it works.
