I know it very well.

You on the other hand don't realize that capitalism and democracy are opposites.

I don't know about opposites, yet one is an economic system, and the other is social. If you mean that the consumer is free to "vote" for Product X or System Z over competing brands, then capitalism would come the closest.

I'm with Prenj. I think you are mixing up corporatism mixed with government cronyism with capitalism.

indeed - and the economic system of a democracy is a central one. Because people would vote to 'keep the jobs' and 'to keep those cheap bastards out' and to 'force them to continue to produce product A'. Welcome to hell. It is called democracy.

In a system where two people make a mutually beneficial trade, there is no exploitation.

We're back to my initial observation on how you do not understand what capitalism is.

It's not his fault. He comes from a country that was still grunting, scratching in the dirt with sticks, and picking each other's asses for snacks, when the rest of the world was building pyramids, observatories, and sculptures, and writing epic poetry. What would he know about capitalism? (Well, there is the Hanseatic League, which they'd like to have us believe was the origin of modern capitalism, but really they were just copying the Minoans, Phoenicians and Hittites.)

Aww. The right-wingnuts are still brainwashed into believing anarcho-capitalism is the only kind of capitalism. How cute.

I don't know whom you are talking about; as far as I can see, energyman76b is the only person in the thread who said anything characteristic of such a belief. How does someone believing that 'capitalism is a system based on mutually beneficial exchange' imply that anarcho-capitalism is its only form (i.e., that it can only exist in an extreme and impractical form)? If this were true, how would semi-socialist, semi-capitalist states such as those of Europe and the Americas exist?

Or were you just tired and blurting out whatever came to mind?

Captialism and socialism are both 'democratic' in nature, and they both carry risks of consolidation of power and oppression of people, that must be guarded against (in the one case by corporations and the wealthy, and in the other case by the state, populist demagogues, and party apparatchiks). Neither is more or less 'democratic', other than the extent to which any given society lets down its guard against authoritarianism and takes it up the ass.

This is why you call the police as a last resort.

My neighbor called the police because a neighborhood kid pushed her kid... Why the fuck would you call the police for that?

There was a car full of idiot college kids in front of my house, who were clearing and excitedly rolling a blunt in the parking lot, the week before christmas. I simply took a blunt object, put on a cover, and told them to GTFO.... calling the police is a last resort IMO.

My neighbours have kids... plus it's just plain rude to do that. I mean if you pull up randomly in front of someone house to drugs, I will laugh when you get arrested. Arrest idiots, not recreational users.

So you advocate arresting recreational drug users, but not recreational drug users. And it is perfectly OK to threaten others with violence if you don't like their recreational drug use.

I'm just kidding. You should have waited until they had finished a couple bowls, then got out a bull-horn and yelled, "This is the police! We've got you surrounded! Place your hands on your heads and do not move!!", and then just watched.
