Hi
Here is my gnome-2.32.1 desktop on my gentoo. As windowmanager i use sawfish-1.9.
On the right xinerama sceen i use the gnome-panel and at the left xinerama screen the xfce4-panel.

no, the first one is high art. I am sad that the highly stylistic lines and strong abstraction of japanese-influenced pictures are creating such a response in you.
