So, I heard that Chrome OS uses portage... Where can we find their tree, to see what's available? I won't lie, I'm chiefly concerned with having vim... But knowing what else is in the tree would be useful. _________________ Votre moment detente

No, it is Gentoo based.
Catch 22, the hard drive is read only, and other BS. Basically, you can't do anything to the computer without putting it in "developer mode". You can't actually install things or keep local files. Developer mode might change that. I spent 10 minutes with the OS, and it was owned by someone else so I did not want to do anything that could damage the OS. I could be wrong. _________________ First things first, but not necessarily in that order.
Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box. |

Apparently they have a ton of overlays, and they use a "repo" tool to manage them.
See here: http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/developer-guide#TOC-Get-the-source

Yes, and in the process you get their portage trees. Isn't that what you want? _________________ “And even in authoritarian countries, information networks are helping people discover new facts and making governments more accountable.”– Hillary Clinton, Jan. 21, 2010 |
