If you're a single woman in a country with a one child rule and a blatant favouritism of male issue resulting in an unnaturally high male population ratio, then clearly your lonesome relationship status is entirely voluntary.

Heaven forbid a daughter go unmarried: every Chinese egg is precious; they might run out of people!
As to the pillow, if they'd make it with a hole, the Italians would buy.

Wouldn't even have to be a particularly big hole, just miss a stitch and that would be enough. |
