The creationists in the gun debate - dogmatic, dishonest, wilfully ill-informed - are most definitely on the pro-gun side. They are toxic people with toxic ideas which cause an immense amount of harm and avoidable deaths.

I have lived in Glasgow. The murder rate is about half that of New York. That's pretty bad.
Glasgow's problems all stem from poverty and deprivation, and a smattering of religious sectarianism. You can avoid most of the trouble by staying out of the problem areas.

Sounds a lot like NYC, though being secular, I doubt religion is a contributing factor to the violence. Stronger religious beliefs could actually improve the violence problem in NYC (but not so much stronger as to cause sectarian violence).

WTF is that woman smoking? 'Traditional rifles' typically carry larger heavier rounds = more recoil meaning more difficult for women to handle. They also come with shorter magazines, typically 5, making it more difficult to fight off intruders when you have to stop and load every few seconds. Furthermore, rifles are *not* designed for close quarter firing regardless of sex. WTF is she talking about sports shooters/hunters for in a matter of home defence?
