Need phasers. They work in harsh conditions like New York or space and can be set to STUN or KILL. KILL vaporises the body. Then it's time to beam up to the mothership in time for tea and biscuits.
After a feed and Earl Grey (Hot) it's a quick trip to the zero-g toilet for Captain's log before sex (make it so) and bed |

It's sarcasm, silly. The point they're making is that, if something like the temperature has so much influence on the murder rate, while nothing has changed with respect to guns in the same period, is the presence/availability of guns really a principal driving factor of the homicide rate? Maybe other things are far more important in driving the murder rate?

Cardassian issue (23rd C) are your best bet, Federation standard are slightly over-tooled and prone to locking.

Bah... modern flame throwers go back at least as far as the Athenian navy about 2,700 years ago, and in a more primitive form they are documented as early as 3,400 years ago.
They could make a comeback if black shoes are banned.
