With mplayer I would like to play a 3D film in 2D. (How) can this be done? _________________ Diplomacy is the art of letting the other party have things your way.

I have asked Google. Found the same suggestion, but when I try it the following error displays:
Code: | % mplayer -vo gl:mirror=3 somefile.mkv
Could not parse arguments at the position indicated below:
mirror=3
|
So it looks like the gl video output device does not have the option mirror. I couldn't find this in the mplayer man page either. I'll search for the reason behind this but I was hoping for other solutions as well -- the gl output is quite CPU costly isn't it? _________________ Diplomacy is the art of letting the other party have things your way.

so?
I'm using libav, not ffmpeg, the devs of mplayer recommend using ffmpeg with mplayer and not libav. mplayer2 gives me all I need and if not, vlc solves it. _________________ Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein |
