So I am trying to create a fresh install of Gentoo. I am not through step 7 in the Standard install handbook. The problem is that when I try to emerge anything it fails. Looking through the wall of text I see that the C compiler is unable to create exectuables. I used the stage3-amd64-20130110.tar.bz2 tarball.
Quick edit: I re-emerged gcc and the problem persists

Update
I attempted to run Code: | env-update && source /etc/profile
emerge --oneshot libtool |
to see if that would fix the problem, however it didn't make a difference |

I fixed the problem. Turns out that compiler flags need to have a dash in front of them. Cheers! |
