KDE only logs in in failsafe mode.

otherwise it starts loading but once it reaches loading the kde system (the big K on the loadup screen) it gives me a black screen and kicks me back to the kdm login screen.


If i use startx and startkde the loading screen entirely skips that final step in loading up kde.

This tells me somethings wrong with my install. but what?

(btw if you need a logfile, i don't know which ones you might need so ask for it )

of KDE i have only emerged kdebase-meta i figure emerging kde-meta might fix this but i'd rather fix it and stick to base since after all.. kde-meta has a lot of things i've got no use for.
