You don't.

The Executive Branch has been unilaterally extending its authority for a very, very long time. I wonder when congress will decide they don't want to become irrelevant. I bet Democrats will refuse to do anything about it.

Related to this specific issue, its a shame some people actually believe when they're told it has to do with protecting the children and preventing future incidents. It has nothing to do with that, and it will have no impact.

Yeah, the argument that lowering the circulation of (semi-)automatic guns and limiting magazine capacity might have a positive impact on gun related deaths clearly is delusional, and nothing more than a smokescreen. In truth, as every clear-headed independant non-indoctrinated thinker can see, your government wants to eliminate all chances of an armed uprising after the imminent fascist takeover (with the help of the UN which are controlled by the Bilderberg group and/or glibbery space aliens). Now if you'll excuse me, Glenn Beck is on.

Typical authoritarian leftist hand-puppet response: appeal to ridicule.

In truth, much of what you just sarcastically said is quite correct.

True.

Not exactly, but close. Democrats are very afraid of the fact that about 3/4 of guns are owned by Republicans. This fear made itself obvious after the Giffords shooting, when there was a widespread knee-jerk reaction blaming Republicans (when in fact the shooter was a Democrat).

Obama is violating people's rights here. The Federal Government has absolutely no business putting people's mental health care information into a Federal background investigation database, where it will undoubtedly be used to discriminate against them in all sorts of ways (who can avoid making judgements about people when provided with such information). The most significant effect of this will not be a reduction in gun violence; it will be an immediate and dramatic reduction in the rate of people receiving care for mental health issues (which may well have the opposite effect). Unless a patient has given a provider a reason to believe they are dangerous, this violates all kinds of privacy laws, standing (and legally binding) patient confidentiality agreements, and existing health information regulations, not to mention the Hippocratic Oath.

The writing is (finally!) on the wall for the US obsession with guns.

Not even close. This is nothing but a lot of grandstanding and collateral damage. There will be backlash, too.

I'd assume your lack of understanding was related to your not being from the US, except far too many citizens can't see what the Left is doing. Guess how long it takes to swap magazines? It isn't hours, so that helps narrow it down. Somewhere between 1hr and 0 seconds.

About two to four seconds for a pistol; three to five seconds for a rifle, with most of the variation being due to how you are carrying the magazines.

About ten to twenty seconds for a revolver, or a rifle or shotgun with a tubular magazine.

Old mauser-style 5-bullet rifle magasines (is that the right word) are easy as fuck, you just push in new one :P

I just checked with the Palmetto State Armory, the company who made my AR-15. They're still fresh out of stock on...everything.

What I'd really like to have is a nice little 60mm mortar and a couple palettes of rounds.
(Just kidding, FBI, ATF, and Secret Service. Just a little joke, there. :P )

Didn't realize that. It'll only take one success, then we'll start seeing copycat crimes. The advantage will be the distraction from firearms.

Knowing hackers, somebody will do it first with a bomb filled with pig shit or something, and that will spoil it for everybody, because after that the Government will start whatever the drone equivalent of a TSA grope-fest is (e.g., making everybody wear wide-brimmed hats which prevent them from suspiciously gazing skyward, and arresting anybody who makes small-engine sputtering noises with their tightly-pursed lips).

How to make perfectly safe world in few simple steps:

1.) ban assault rifles
2.) ban all firearms
3.) ban all knives
4.) ban all that apparently harmless objects that fucking ninjas use as lethal weapons, including but not excluded to:
- nunchaks
- sticks
- chains
- screwdrivers
- bottles
- Fender Stratocasters
- etc
5.) ban pavement, because you can lift someone up and slam them on pavement
6.) ban sharp edges, cos you can push people into them
7.) ban floors. You can throw people off them
8.) ban snakes. Also ban planes, obviously
9.) ban paper. Papercuts are no laughing matter.
10.) ban coconuts.
11.) ban dogs.

Fuck, ban humans. Also bears.

Addendum: Ban Politicians. They clearly killed more people that all bosses of Cosa Nostra & Yakuza combined.
