Bingo! We have a winner! He's been dead for days probably, and they're just trying to fortify their position against a coup before announcing it.
They are letting the truth "evolve" in Obama-esque fashion.
He's ill, but he's fine. No cancer.
He's seriously ill, but he's going to be okay.
He's in intensive care due to "complications", but everything's going to be okay.
Let me be perfectly clear: he's in critical condition. No, he's not dead. I repeat, rumors that he is dead are untrue.
He's in a medically induced coma. As I have consistently said, he's not dead, but we must prepare for the worst.
He's been on life support all this time, as I have consistently said, and doctors have been waiting for the okay to pull the plug, but we don't want to be too hasty.
There will be a National week of mourning led by El Hefe Nova. Those who do not participate, or are disruptive, will be shot.

More likely Bush/Cheney. He's had cancer for a long time, and it takes a while to develop to the point it's noticeable.
More realistically, it was probably the Russians, who want to use Venezeula as a base, but who think Chavez is too much of a loose cannon to trust with a potential "Cuban Missile Crisis" scenario. Watch and see who takes his place. I bet Venezeula is a hotbed of covert operations activity right now.

Hirohito finally died after he was on life support for weeks, if not over a month (essentially, he was a corpse that was being sustained). There is no doubt in my mind that the sweaty little fireplug dictator of Venezuela is in a similar situation right now.
