MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode video
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
  disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

No problem. :) As an afterthought, I believe this problem started after the upgrade to xorg-server-1.13.0-r1 (which is turning out to be an absolute disaster on a number of machines).

Code:

Did you try reverting to the latest working xorg-server version?

Somebody something ?

I got recently exACTLY THE THE SAME PROBLEM, with identical output.
I found out the problem to be the VDPAU extension. I have unfortunate "nvidia card NVIDIA Corporation G86 [Quadro NVS 140M] (rev a1)"

With another -vo like this:

mplayer -vo xv dvd://2

it works around. Try "mplayer2 -vo help" for other output drivers. Nevertheless Im interested because in mid November VDPAU ( -vo vdpau ) used to work just perfectly, and Im too lazy && too busy to downgrade the x11-base/xorg-server-1.13.1

Any info highly appreciated - UncleVan.

I resolved this issue on two of my systems (amd64 and x86) by setting CFLAGS march=native and disabling distcc.
