Hi All.
I have two graphic cards and one display connected to each. Works well so far, but there are two problems:
a) how to move a window from one screen to the other?
b) how to open Nemo/Nautilus on both screens? It works well with a terminal (probably as it opens a new instance each time) but Nemo/Nautilus always open the new window in the screen which holds the running instance. Even --display :0.0 or --display :0.1 did not help.
Best regards |

Nope, xinerama builds one virtual screen. That is fine as long as you have two monitors connected to one graphic card.
It does not work however for two graphic cards: If I use the Option "Xinerama" "1" in the ServerLayout-Section it puts Screen 1 onto the second Screen, nothing else. |

let me get this straight, because your set up is weird. Why would you wanna hook up two monitors with two different graphics cards? Most modern cards have more than one output. That set up seems rather inefficient.
Now, your problem is that multiple screen desktop DOES work with the DE and several apps, meaning you can move the window from monitor to monitor but CERTAIN apps can't move accross the two monitors??
I don't understand your problem with this bizarre set up. |
