anyone know of a midi file previewer that's scrollable? It's tiresome to have to load it one by one to see how it looks on, let's say with Rosegarden.

thanks.

Split from [overlay] Pro audio production applications, Part 2. When you're topic is unrelated (or only peripherally related), please start a new topic. These sort of practices are explained in the Guidelines.

I don't know if I follow.
You want to LOOK at the notes, not listen to the midi? You could try musescore, then. It's rather a note sheet layout programme but it can import midi.

midi format is ok, just the way is shown in rosegarden. I am looking at a file picker that previews midi files with tracks and the notes.

With many midi files that are variations of the same piece becomes confusing which one to load. With a preview of the midi file I can visually remember which one I wanna pick.

So you're looking for something like a plug in for a file manager that similarly to previewing pictures previews the score of the midi file? Haven't heard of anything like that.
As a not so very efficient workaround I'd suggest batch-converting all the .mid into PDF using lilypond - then you can preview the pdf.
