I have installed Gentoo before, so no issue with that. Really, my question is more about how to install Gentoo Plasma Active (preferably Plasma Active 3). Someone on the KDE Forums said | Quote: | Just define the variable KDE_PLATFORM_PROFILE when running cmake:
cmake -DKDE_PLATFORM_PROFILE=Tablet

What do you all say? Is there a guide (I haven't found one)? |

I would say its not supported if its not in portage. You can try the .9999 ebuilds in the overlay, but if you break our system you get to keep all the pieces.
Don't ever try to build packages yourself. Portage has all kinds of nifty little tricks for keeping track of everything that will break if you start manually installing stuff. _________________ First things first, but not necessarily in that order. |

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Unsupported Software. Not in the main tree so it fits better here.

| Aaron Seigo told me that the differences between KDE and Plasma Active were very small. We just need to package an ebuild or two and apply a patch to KDE libs. I have not tried setting it up though. |

| I would also be interested in trying if the ebuilds were made available |

At first, those ebuilds will likely appear in kde overlay. No idea how long it will take, though. _________________ backend.cpp:92:2: warning: #warning TODO - this error message is about as useful as a cooling unit in the arctic |

| I am not aware of anyone actively working on Plasma Active support at the moment. We are all busy with our existing projects. |
