Hello,

My ex-company lent me a PC that came with McAFree Endpoint protection and m$-windows7 installed.
Any good tutorial to multiboot with Gentoo ?

I found only this page for Arch but it seems it is outdated.

Any good link to do it ?

Thanks

Laurent

Well, I didn't found anything recent / constructive.
I'll be in hurry soon so I'll probably format the HD and use only Gentoo if I didn't find any clue by end of the day.

Bye

I don't know anything about McAfee Endpoint Encryption, but, if you can install EasyBCD on the Windows 7 partition and the BCD can still vector anywhere on the HDD, presumably you should still be able to use the procedure explained in the blog post: The best way to dual boot Linux and Windows as that method doesn't touch the MBR -- or anything else in Windows -- at all.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply but it's too late : I already reformated the disk ... but unfortunately, safeboot survived and said "Safeboot has been corrupted (error 92h)"

What I did is I booted from Gentoo CD, used cfdisk to remove all existing partition, and did Gentoo installation as per the installation guide.

But I got this error at first reboot :x
Any idea how to fully remove safeboot to allow me to do this Gentoo install ?

Thanks

Laurent

PS: I did a
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdc bs=512 count=4096
to fully erase the boot block and will retry an install tomorrow ...

Don't know anything about Safeboot. Did you try to overwrite first sectors of HD with dd?

Well, it was my fault : I didn't fully installed GRUB ... more the kernel I build hangs.

So the conclusion is : never do such things late at night

Now, I need to understand where my kernel is bad.
