Hello Audiodef

I have been following along with your Gentoo Studio instructions on your website and I did pretty much all you instructed to do to get the base system up and running. I noticed that when i booted into the system, none of the modules that I added to the /etc/conf.d/modules file are loaded when the system is booting up and neither does the net.eth0 start upon boot. Infact the system is telling me that the device associated with net.eth0 does not even exist! I compiled the driver for the ethernet card as a module and it still did not work. then I attempted to build it as part of the kernel and it built succcessfully but it still does not start upon boot. Any suggestions as to what I should do to get this fixed? I am using a different PC right now and so I will not be able to copy/paste the output of commands nor error messages into this post.

All help is GREATLY appreciated.

Others can help out too, it does not have to only be Audiodef

1) If you want his attention, you should send him a private message. There's no guarantee he'll see this posting.

2) His stage4 is not an official Gentoo project, so it's not entirely appropriate to ask about it here. At best, it should be in the "Unsupported software" subforum.

3) To debug unrecognized PCI hardware, at a minimum you should post the output of "lspci -v". I bet if you Google for the model number of your Ethernet card you would find some useful information.

Correct. Doesn't mean you won't get help, though. Send that PM.

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Unsupported Software.
