|
|
Hello,
during installation sshd does not start up.
| Code: | /etc/init.d/ssh.d start
ssh-keygen: symbol lookup error: ssh-keygen: undefined symbol: EC_KEY_new_by_curve_name |
All hints I found was to reemerge sshd. But this is an install cd with no emerge
Is there a way of using other algorithms or generate the keys on other PCs or any other workaraound?
Micha.
PS: I've tried to mess around with ssh.d, but nano needs libmagic.so.1 .....

MMMMM,
let's see...
One hint regarding your misspelling of your command: /etc/init.d/ssh.d start
should be: | Code: | | /etc/init.d/sshd start |
But I guess you did it right cause your fault description.
I don't know what kind of install cd do you mean, possibly its faulty.
So use a different for a test.
I recommend the usage of the SystemRescueCD, its Gentoo based, has lots of tools, allow to browse on the web comfortable, is lean and fast,
brings 32 and 64 bit kernels with it to cover most installation scenarios.

Much success, Andy. _________________ If you want to see a Distro done right, compile it yourself! |

You are right, sshd is correct and I used it. Copy and paste by brain is not 100% safe
The CD is the "install-amd64-minimal-20120917.iso".
Right now I'm downloading the "livedvd-amd64-multilib-2012.1.iso". Hope this works better.
Any other hints?
Thanks, Micha.

MMMMM
File a bug at bugs.gentoo.org then use some other liveCD.
You can use any liveCD you like as none of its code goes into your install.
Your only constraint is the kernel. For a 64 bit install you need a 64 it kernel. _________________ Regards,

OK now I've tried the live DVD. Turned this PC into a brick. Uses now a display setting my display can't display. Even during BIOS messages.
Micha.
edit:
CMOS reset helped. Solution is:
- Use Live-DVD
- nofb kernel
- pass "nox" option to kernel

There is no ppc rescue cd. I used to have Ubuntu Live CD for ppc, but there I need to install sshd from packages and thus reconfigure the mirrors, and this was the point where I stopped the Ubuntu stuff.
I just need a minimal cd with a recent kernel supporting recent ciphers and filesystems, to be able to repartition my PPC. _________________ ppc:PowerBook5,8 15"(1440)-G4/1.67, 2G(dev.notes[pdf]) | amd64:Core2Duo | amd64-prefix:OpenSuse@Core2Quad | Lila-Theme |

| Is there any indication that this problem will be resolved going forward. |
