well I'm running exe files(using wine), this works just fine, but I can't run any music player while I'm running the game, if i do i get no sound in-game
and as soon as I exit the music player everything just goes back to normal |

See config in my signature.
Sounds like the usual dmix issues. _________________ Improve your font rendering and ALSA sound |

Ah, I understand your problem now. By default, ALSA lets one program take over your sound card, and therefore nothing else can play - unless you configure ALSA to allow this. Paul's advice is what you want. _________________ Gentoo Studio: http://gentoostudio.org

yup that seems to be it, dmix will probably allow me to play multiple audio streams if I understood what has been said so far, however I'm a bit busy this week so I'll get to doing it by the weekend
thanks |
