Hi folks,

I've re-configured my laptop (Thinkpad T410s) the last few days where I also configured my laptop for multi-display use.
In doing so I found out that the powerconsumption of my laptop won't go back to a normal value of around 8-9W in idle
when I unplug the 2nd display.

Instead it is around 10-11W. Powertop doesn't give any information about a certain device or process which could probably
cause this increased powerconsumption.

In order to get back to a normal powerconsumption I have to suspend the system and wake it up again.
After that everything is back to normal.
So, my assumption is that something doesn't get suspended or turned off currectly after unplugging the display.
It also doesn't matter if I'm using the displayport or VGA, everything is the same.

What I want to know now is, if anyone has a similar problem or if anyone could tell me where I can look for
a solution. Or is it a known problem? I couldn't find anything in the internet so far.
I'm thankful for any help cause 2W more powerconsumption is a lot.

The problem in short:
normal state (only laptop display): 8-9W powerconsumption (OK)
multi-display (one display plugged in into either DP or VGA): 11-12W (OK)
unplugging the display results in: 10-11W (NOT OK, should be 8-9W again)

Assumption: something doesn't get suspended or turned off again (graphic driver issue?)

My System:
Intel Core i5 M 520 with integrated Graphic (GFX driver i915,=xf86-video-intel-2.20.7 with USE-Flags: dri glamor sna xvmc )
=x11-base/xorg-server-1.13.0
I'm also running tp_smapi and tlp
Kernel: 3.5.4-gentoo-sources (had the same problem with 3.2.11)
