Postfix problems from a newbie...

I have a newly installed gentoo linux box which I installed postfix on. Without further configuration I was able to send email. I went through the desktop configuration and made the mods so I could receive email. I am not able to receive email and am no longer capabile of sending email.

I read of a fix were one takes the main.cf file from the postfix tar ball in /usr/portage/distfiles/, I got a fatal error when I copied the file over to /etc/postfix.. I am assuming it is an ownership issue.

I do not have any virtual hosts. I am able to see that postfix is communicating with the foreign email servers (mail.yahoo.com) but I am not able to read through my email client - pine. I was unable to install mutt like in the desktop giude received an error stating

Actually, I think the config has more to do with Pine than postfix... I am able to send and receive using mozilla from a remote (internal lan) windows/linux box! Though can anyone explain the mutt issue? Thanks!
