How to listen audiobooks (.aax) on Gentoo

Hi,

Is it possible to listen audio-books (.aax) from Amazon on Gentoo?
If yes which software from portage is the best?

.aax, the format by Audible (now Amazon)? AFAIK they've got DRM on it, which probably should be stripped first. If neither mplayer nor vlc can play them directly, there's quite a few programms out there to remove the DRM; got no personal experience on that, though.
