Hi everyone I am very new to i3 and conky , I wondered if anyone could help me in having my multiple conky work on i3? The problem is everytime the i3 starts up conky uses the first screen to launch the multiple instances of itself in a cluggy manner. Here is my,
xorg.conf -> http://pastebin.com/T94meqnA
30-screen.conf -> http://pastebin.com/P4sft3Rt
40-monitor.conf -> http://pastebin.com/06b2jE1H
Thanks in advanced. |

It could be i3, the tiling window manager. In that case: how do you start conky?
In ~/.i3/config, you could have something like: Code: |
exec conky -c ~/.conkyrc1
exec --no-startup-id i3-msg 'workspace 2; exec conky -c ~/.conkyrc2 ; workspace 1' |
That should start one instance of conky on the first workspace; then another instance on workspace 2 and return to workspace 1 |

I'm pretty sure he's referring to x11-wm/i3 the window manager. That being said, the problem is not well defined. - What do you *want* to have happen? Be specific.
- What is happening instead? Be specific.
Most of those configuration files are unnecessary. It would be wise to get rid of all of it, and only fill in the parts you need. Do you actually have 4 video cards? Why are you using the vesa driver for cards 2 and 3? |
