Last time I used KDE was 5 years ago, but an obvious place to start is to check the logs. If you are using session manager, disable it ( but if can reach kde's output at some terminal, do so), and start kde session using .xinitrc file and startx, possibly redirecting it output to the file of your choice. If you wont find anything suspicious, examine your home directory permissions. Maybe by accident you denied yourself write permission to some directory important to KDE.
If all that fails I am afraid you will have to find out how KDE manages wallpapers, to solve the issue.
PS
Or maybe it's just a bug At least it was in the past: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241498 |
